Special Events Racing free on Giveaway of the Day
For one day only (you’ve got around 19 hours left as at the time of writing this) you can get Special Events Racing free from the Giveaway of the Day web site:

There’s very little information available about the game, other than the brief details on GOTD:
Advanced GT and open-wheeled race car racing simulation.
Features:
- ODE Physics Engine;
- 3 GT cars and 5 Open Wheel cars;
- 17 locations based on real tracks;
- Motion Blur, Rain Race;
- Ajustible cars.
I can’t even find a dedicate site for it, but it looks okay for a freebie.

Race Driver Grid site launched
Codematers has launched their Race Driver Grid web site in anticipation of the product launch this summer for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC and Nintendo DS.

As usual, it’s a pretty slick affair, offering an overview of the game, videos and numerous screenshots.
I’ve always enjoyed the Race Driver series. They’re terrific fun, especially if you’ve only got a limited amount of time to play and want a quick blast, so this is one I’m looking forward to.

TORCS review
Games for Linux are relatively few on the ground, so it’s nice to see an in-depth review of TORCS over on the Tech Source From Bohol blog.

The review covers installation, sound, graphics and overall gameplay and concludes with an overall 7/10 rating.
You can read the full review here, or head over to the TORCS web site for more details.

VRX Mach 4 simulator
Multi-screen dedicated gaming rigs seem to be all the rage at the moment. VRX’s offering is powered by no less than 4 Xbox 360’s but, more importantly, has a “Virtual Wind System” and, even better, a “Beverage Containment System”!
Seriously, though, this does look like one nice piece of kit:

The VRX MACH 4. The Triple LCD Display provides a true visual sense of speed by surrounding the driver with in the driving environment, allowing racing fans and automotive enthusiasts to experience the thrill of virtual racing like they never have before!
You can check out the full specs and get more info on the VRX web site.
