New video podcast from SimRacingTonight

by WorldOfSimulation on January 29, 2008

SimRacingTonight focuses on, as you might imagine from the title, racing simulators. They have just released their first video podcast of 2008 – entitled Inside Sim Racing – which includes coverage of:

  • Arca Sim Racing
  • rFactor Grand Am Mod
  • iRacing Pricing
  • LFS Y Patch
  • 24 Hours at Daytona

If you’re into racing sims, it’s well worth checking out. The videos are pretty slick – a notch above the average video podcast. They have both hi- an lo-res versions of this and earlier video podcasts on their web site.

The coverage of iRacing.com is interesting. At $13 per month (that’s the lowest price, based on a 1 year membership), it’ll have to be a hell of a sim to bring in customers.

The ultimate car racing simulator?

by WorldOfSimulation on January 10, 2008

Costing a mere $20,000, VirtualGT could well be the ultimate racing simulator for the sim fan who has everything!

vgt2unit-small.jpg

VirtualGT is the world’s first and only super-realistic auto racing simulator designed for race training and home entertainment. VirtualGT is, quite simply, the world’s finest auto racing simulator. Pro racers tell us VirtualGT is the closest you can get to the real thing.

VirtualGT Pro-PC includes a Shuttle XPC high performance gaming computer with 3 removable hard drives and a library of the world’s best race simulation software, including GTR.

If you’re lucky enough to have tried one, or bought one (!), I’d love to here what you think.
