Origami Simulator
The Create Universes blog has a number of interesting little simulation programs created by the author, including Verlet Origami, which shows a 3D simulation of the paper folds required to make a paper airplane.

The blog also has simulations of a Picture Logic puzzle and Domino Placement. It’s a neat little site.

I came across this post just recently, and it has really made my day to see that someone has chosen to write about my CreateUniverses blog, and talk about the VerletOrigami simulation. So thank you very much!!
I’m about to upload an updated version of all the programs including VerletOrigami, along with a couple of new ones over the next day or so. The change to VerletOrigami is in preparation for eventually making a crease pattern and fold sequence editor.
– The way it folds the plane has changed so it uses simultaneous folds, which means it can do symmetrical folds simultaneously, resulting in a plane that isn’t oriented at a weird angle at the end
– When the plane is folded, the simulation folds the plane back out into a flat sheet. This happens repeatedly, and demonstrates the stability of the physics simulation
The list of programs I’ve posted so far:
* Verlet Physics Origami
* Ball game simulation
* Domino placement game
* Picture Logic solver
* 15 Puzzle solver
Thanks again! I’ll make a link back to your site as well!!
Hi Greg,
Many thanks for the update on your apps. I love this kind of stuff
